Who is your favorite housemate? Many believe it to be the family pet.
My family and I always have had a love of pets. From early on, I believed that pets really improve one’s quality of life, and now there are many scientific studies which agree. I have had dogs, cats, lizards, frogs and many small furries such as guinea pigs and hamsters. My family and I also successfully raised a puppy for The Seeing Eye, and she is now happily at work leading her sight-impaired person.
I have been home sitting and pet sitting since 2009, and I considered it to be a great hobby. However, I recently realized that knowing I have contributed towards the happiness and health of a pet is a wonderful and fulfilling career.
Hansen Home and Pet Sitting was born.
As I have always felt there is no such thing as too much education, I immediately set out to study and learn all that I could about caring for many different species of pets, home security, and emergency care including first aid and CPR. I have studied and am now certified by the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters (NAPPS). To protect you, your home, and your pets, I have acquired full liability insurance and bonding. Although NAPPS certification requires pet first aid training, I am also studying additional pet first aid with the American Red Cross. When my studies are completed, I will be doubly certified. In addition, I am specially trained in the care of senior dogs.
The best boss I ever had taught me that if I treat every client like family, I will do my best work. I fully subscribe to that theory.
